Metalrage is familiar with these geeks from Germany. Their last record called Hardcore Aus Der Ersten Welt was quite interesting. Their new EP is called Deutschland Von Vorne and consists of 8 tracks, with a total length of 22 minutes. The funny thing is that all songs are covers from bands I never heard of, but JaKa have really excelled themselves with these songs. 

 

The record blasts out with Diese Menschen Sind (Halbwegs) Ehrlich. The music is cool, and several The Dillinger Escape Plan like riffs are flying through the speakers. The bass sound is bearable and could have been somewhat harder, but it’s nice enough. The vocals differ from low grunts to high-pitched screams and tortures. The tracks aren’t all long in length, but the last track lasts for 5 minutes, which are filled with nonsense to my ears. Except for that last track, Japanische Kamphorspiele have convinced me again of their work. I like the production, which is even better than on Hardcore Aus Der Ersten Welt.

 

I will conclude this by saying that JaKa rules, and that I’m eager to hear a full-length record with that exceptional production. Tracks like Es Tickt, Menschenverachtende Untergrundmusik and Pogo In Der Strassenbahn are really worth checking out. Have fun!
